About

StitchBig started as a small drapery business in Atlanta, GA. While the company was small – the drapery definitely wasn’t. I specialized in big windows – big installations – and big ideas.

I left the big city of big dreams and returned to my hometown of Chapel Hill to spend time with family. Uprooting life as I knew it – bringing along my husband and two boys – I’ve had to make some adjustments. Busy, loud urban living is replaced with quiet college town vibes. Large dining room lunches – are now small intimate bites. Inspired by craftsman and industrial styles of the South – I am reconnecting to the farming roots of the Mid-Atlantic. Sun-filled skies are shaded with large hardwoods. And the sights, smells and comforts of my childhood are abound as I make new memories with my own family.

As I rebuild StitchBig – I ask myself – is designing drapery the goal? Is it shopping for the right fabrics – spending hours on end pressing and sewing hems, building the studio again. None of that is off the table – but what I’ve found is – what I love. And that is the sense of home and understanding what that means to myself – as well as others. Through “curtain stories” I explore connections to home and the way fabrics can heal, nurture and balance.
