Building a robot with cardboard
Building a robot out of cardboard is a great way to recycle materials and have fun at the same time. Plus, it’s a perfect activity for a summer camp. Here are the materials you’ll need to get started:
– Cardboard box- Scissors- Tape- Markers or paint- Construction paper- Glue- String
Once you have all of your materials, you can start building your robot. Begin by cutting out a head, body, and arms from your cardboard box. You can make your robot as big or small as you like. Then, use your markers or paint to decorate your robot. Get creative!
Next, cut out some felt or construction paper to make eyes, a mouth, and any other features you want your robot to have. Glue these onto your robot’s head.
Finally, use string to attach the arms to the body. Now your robot is complete!
Cardboard robot materials
You will need the following materials to make your cardboard robot:
– 1 large piece of cardboard- 1 small piece of cardboard- 1 toilet paper roll- 1 paper towel roll- 2 plastic soda bottles- 4 bottle caps- 2 pipe cleaners- 1 piece of string- 1 piece of duct tape- 1 marker- 1 pair of scissors
Start by cutting your large piece of cardboard into two pieces. One piece will be the body of your robot and the other piece will be the robot’s head. Cut the small piece of cardboard into two pieces as well. These will be the robot’s arms.
To make the robot’s head, cut the top off of one of the plastic soda bottles. Cut the bottom off of the other plastic soda bottle. These will be the robot’s eyes. Glue the bottle tops to the small piece of cardboard. Glue the bottle bottoms to the large piece of cardboard.
Next, cut the toilet paper roll in half. These will be the robot’s legs. Glue the toilet paper rolls to the large piece of cardboard.
Cut the paper towel roll in half. These will be the robot’s arms. Glue the paper towel rolls to the small piece of cardboard.
Attach the small piece of cardboard to the large piece of cardboard. This will be the robot’s torso.
Finally, decorate your robot with the markers. Be sure to give your robot a name!
Making a cardboard robot instructions
Cut two circles out of cardboard. These will be the robot’s eyes.
Cut a curved rectangle out of cardboard. This will be the robot’s mouth.
Cut two long rectangles out of cardboard. These will be the robot’s arms.
Cut two smaller rectangles out of cardboard. These will be the robot’s hands.
Assemble the robot’s head by attaching the eyes and mouth to one of the circles.
Attach the arms to the other circle.
Attach the hands to the ends of the arms.
