Look no further than these night lights and glowing lanterns! Made with just a few simple materials, these lanterns will provide hours of fun and entertainment for your little ones. Lake Hartwell is one of our favorite lakes to camp on. We can sleep 10 feet from the water and paddle our canoe across to explore the island of rock formations and goose feathers. Nights at the campsite called for night lights. So we decided to make our own.

Lake Hartwell

Lake Hartwell is one of the most beautiful lakes in the country. It’s located in the Appalachian Mountains and is a popular destination for camping, fishing, and hiking. The lake is huge, with over 930 miles of shoreline, and is one of the most popular camping spots in the US.

We love camping at Lake Hartwell because we can sleep right next to the water. We often paddle our canoe across to explore the island of rock formations and goose feathers. The nights can be very dark, so we decided to make our own night lights.

I’m always so amazed when these boys are excited to get crafty. These glamping kid lanterns solved the ongoing dispute over who got the giant lantern. We love the dark so we can see the stars, but when it’s too dark – somehow every noise could be that of a monster.

This kid-inspired design was started in the morning and finished in the afternoon after the glue dried. The boys really couldn’t wait to get their lanterns ready for nighttime. It took us the entire sunset to get the right picture that captured the happiness these lanterns brought the boys.

As the sun began to set, we placed our lanterns around the campsite. And they looked beautiful! The glowing light from the lanterns filled the campsite with a warm, welcoming light.
As we sat around the campfire, we talked and laughed. And the lanterns added just the right touch of magic to the evening.[/vc_column_text][us_text text=”HARTWELL Lantern Supplies” tag=”h5″ css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.5rem%22%7D%7D”][vc_column_text css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-bottom%22%3A%221rem%22%7D%7D”](4-hour project)[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner columns_type=”” columns_reverse=”” ignore_columns_stacking=”” el_class=”col-mb-0″][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][us_iconbox icon=”fal|check-circle” size=”1.2rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Tissue paper[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”fal|check-circle” size=”1.2rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Glue[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”fal|check-circle” size=”1.2rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Scissors[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”fal|check-circle” size=”1.2rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Decorative tape[/us_iconbox][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][us_iconbox icon=”fal|check-circle” size=”1.2rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Clear plastic container[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”fal|check-circle” size=”1.2rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Sponge brushes[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”fal|check-circle” size=”1.2rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Glow sticks[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”fal|check-circle” size=”1.2rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Twine[/us_iconbox][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][us_text text=”Step-By-Step Instructions” tag=”h5″ css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-top%22%3A%221rem%22%7D%7D”][us_iconbox icon=”far|chevron-right” size=”1rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Let the kids cut up the tissue paper any way they want.[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”far|chevron-right” size=”1rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]And make sure the wind doesn’t blow it away by putting the cut pieces in the jar.[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”far|chevron-right” size=”1rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Use the brushes to paint the paper on the lantern with glue.[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”far|chevron-right” size=”1rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Use glue that’s washable and not harmful to the skin.[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”far|chevron-right” size=”1rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Cut the ribbon as long as you like.[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”far|chevron-right” size=”1rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]After the glue has dried (1hr or so), add the ribbons and decorate your lantern with tape.[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”far|chevron-right” size=”1rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Use twine or a thin rope to make a handle.[/us_iconbox][us_iconbox icon=”far|chevron-right” size=”1rem” iconpos=”left” alignment=”none” css=”%7B%22default%22%3A%7B%22margin-left%22%3A%220%22%2C%22margin-bottom%22%3A%220.8rem%22%2C%22margin-right%22%3A%22auto%22%7D%7D”]Don’t forget the glow sticks.
